What we do
Guyana, “land of water” and officially the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, is the only country in South America in which English is the official language. However, the majority of the population speaks Guyanese Creole as their first language. Guyana is bordered by Venezuela, Brazil and Suriname. The country was colony of the Netherlands until 1814 followed by Great Britain until 1966.
The main economic assets of Guyana have always been its natural resources, mainly in its rainforests, plantations, rice fields, bauxite and gold reserves.
Grant Thornton does not have a physical office in Guyana at this moment. The country is serviced by over 60 partners, directors and staff of our Aruba office. At Grant Thornton, we deliver solutions to all business challenges in the areas of Advisory, Assurance, Corporate Accounting & Outsourcing and Tax. We are committed to long term relationships. Our people make it their priority to listen carefully to your needs in order to provide you with the highest level of quality. Cross departments, we operate as one team. This way you can rest assured that you will always receive a complete service from us.
